5 Signs Your Website Needs Work
Your website is your digital head office. It is the front door to your business and the thing potential customers see first. It needs to tell them what you do, how you do it and how to contact you. So how do you know if it’s not working as well as it could be?
Here are a few tips for knowing when it needs a revamp:
You have traffic but users don’t take action
If you can see that you have people visiting your website, but there’s no action happening, it might not be providing the information potential customers need. There are a range of actions you might want someone to take on your website whether it’s to book an appointment, buy a product or contact you.
It doesn’t work on mobile
More and more people browse on their phones between jobs, at night on the couch and while waiting in queues. A poor mobile experience will cost you customers. If someone clicks on your website and it isn’t formatted to view or links don’t work on mobile. They’ll simply leave and go somewhere else.
It loads slowly
Visitors won’t wait around for a page that takes too long to appear. If your website takes more than 3 seconds to load, that’s too long. The ideal range is 1-2 seconds to avoid losing customers. If your images, animations or videos are dragging your site down, you’ll need to address that performance issue.
It’s out of date or old
When was the last time you updated your website? If the information isn’t correct or relevant, then it won’t do a good job of bringing customers to you. Active, regularly updated websites look professional and relevant.
You’re not showing up in search results
A beautiful website won’t help if potential customers can’t find it. There are easy ways to make sure your website has the best chance of visibility. This is known as Organic SEO. It involves having accurate keywords in your website content, page titles and descriptions, links, alt text and more.
